[Survey Monkey] allows us to conduct quick surveys on employee engagement.
  • Employee Engagement
  • Customer Feedback
  • Easy to set up
  • Training feedback
  • subscription cost
  • Social engagement
  • Data analysis
We had a very good experience with our employee engagement. We also have good ease of use with any training feedback. It was a bit of a challenge on the data analysis with customers.

I feel that one of the strengths of Survey Monkey is its ability to function in a variety of ways for different levels of users. We use Qualtrics surveys for the vast majority of our organizational needs. Qualtrics is a feature-heavy and robust platform that we have been working with for some time. With that being said many users find the interface too intimidating and prefer to use Survey Monkey. There are people that are familiar with using Survey Monkey outside of the work environment so already have some skill developed on how to create a survey, extract the results, and comprehend the metrics. We largely use Survey Monkey to meet the needs of these users. That isn't to say that in comparison Survey Monkey is featureless and lacks robustness, it isn't. It is a quick, simple, straightforward platform and there is a segment of our populous that appreciates that.
  • Allows you to collect responses quickly and easily.
  • Gives you tools to analyze your results.
  • Has tools to customize design elements and branding.
  • Creates PDF of the results for viewing offline.
  • Has flexible pricing models.
  • I find the dashboard a little intimidating and too clustered.
  • The name of the product sounds so childish and unprofessional.
  • You will need to unsubscribe from their email communications after you create an account.
Frankly, just based on the name alone I dislike using Survey Monkey for use with our external clients. Qualtrics seem better suited and more professional for those situations. Survey Monkey works really well for creating quick surveys that you want responses for over a short period of time that doesn't require a lot of analysis and follow-up with non-participants. I don't like that Survey Monkey advertises for themselves at the end of every survey so that is another reason I do not like them for higher stakes used. If you just want to aggregate opinion and take a temperature check on something Survey Monkey is a great way to do that.

I used [SurveyMonkey] to set up a survey for limited use in a non-profit organization and was surprised when the survey responses topped more than 40 that I could not access the results. This was not made clear when I was setting up the survey. I had used SurveyMonkey in the past with my organization, however it had switched over to another platform. I formerly trusted SurveyMonkey.
  • Easy to set up survey questions
  • More and more features are moving to paid functionality
If you are going to use extremely frequently [SurveyMonkey] may be worth it; but if you are a smaller user, beware of their marketing practices and negative optioning.

We use SurveyMonkey for several different applications in our organization. First, we use it as a primary research tool when the project is smaller in scope and doesn't require the engagement of a full research team. Second, we use it as a tool to generate potentially newsworthy statistics that can be used as the basis for a media pitch or as a support point to illustrate an important aspect of the story.
  • SurveyMonkey's survey programming features are extremely intuitive. Someone who has never used it before can, with little direction or training, easily set up a simple - or comprehensive - survey in a matter of minutes.
  • Real-time reporting and analytics tools are extremely helpful to keep everyone involved informed on an ongoing basis.
  • Virtually any kind of question or answer format can be programmed into your SurveyMonkey survey.
  • Recognizing that there are more limitations when it comes to a mobile interface vs. a desktop interface, I would love to see more profound levels of programming functionality on the mobile side.
  • It would be helpful to have better access to greater levels of third-party results analysis, particularly as it relates to open-ended questions and answers.
  • As an admin, it would be very cool if SurveyMonkey were able to use AI to match the survey we're building (questions, topics, target respondents, etc.) to existing results that might negate the need to ask certain questions in our surveys.
SurveyMonkey is a high-value, cost-effective solution when you need to generate more basic levels of research that can be used for a wide variety of applications across the organization. If I can avoid the cost, aggravation and time it takes to engage a third-party research firm and use a tool like SurveyMonkey to generate what I need, I will do so.

I use it to administer surveys to our internal staff as a way to gather questions about area where staff need training and assistance. I typically make the surveys very short so people dont just click thru. Minimal text as well. Survey monkey is excellent for short surveys. Very easy to set up.
  • very easy to set up a survey
  • helpful templates
  • easy modules to gather feedback and export to excel
  • support is mostly zen desk which stinks
  • limited electronic resources
Very good for self service. Very easy to learn and set up quick surveys. Free trial is helpful to get started. Its pretty easy to change colors and fonts so you can get the look you want. I would say its less appropriate for complex surveys the tools and analytics are less robust I would use Qualtrics for a bigger N size.

We implemented SurveyMonkey for our entire institution as an easy way to share surveys internally and with external users.
  • Ease-of-use
  • Template design
  • Shareable links
  • Reporting could be more intuitive
  • More question options
  • Number of user "seats" per account
SurveyMonkey is very intuitive and easy to use when you need a quick survey and a convenient way to send it to others.
There are a number of templates available, and the option to design your own survey from scratch.
SurveyMonkey makes it easy to share a survey with others inside or outside of your organization, via link.

We specifically use SurveyMonkey to get quick and easy feedback from employees. For example, discussions around future work from home opportunities throughout the pandemic, willingness to participate in different culture committee events, and general feedback on technology roll outs. We use it as needed as opposed to something on a regular basis.
  • Quick.
  • Easy.
  • User friendly.
  • Security - I haven't spent much time exploring their security, but by default would not put sensitive information in any of the surveys.
  • Notifications - I think the logistics of setting up notifications as a survey creator are a little clunky.
It's appropriate to get quick, short responses from employees/end users. There are great options for varied answer types (i.e. multiple choice, drop downs, text responses) that allow it to suit most needs. I think the most important thing is to keep surveys as concise as possible in order to solicit the best responses.

SurveyMonkey has been used in multiple ways- to gather various data, to assess what is the best time for a meeting, to find the opinions on a class, [etc.] I don't believe it is used by everyone, some use other survey sites, but this is the first one that I was introduced to at work. It's very easy to use and is great for getting information from faculty, staff, or students.
  • User friendly - it's very easy to use and intuitive, it takes you step by step through making the survey you want.
  • It's nice and clean - it has a nice clean look, nothing too distracting, easy for the survey taker to use.
  • Even the free option is very helpful - even if you don't pay for an account, the free option gives you much leeway into making a survey that can fit your needs.
  • I think it's becoming pushed to the back-burner as more survey sites come out - it needs to come up with something to keep it more relevant as other survey sites are being more widely used.
  • Give more options to customize the look of your survey.
I've used it for gathering data to find the best meeting time for employees. It's very simple to use, you just have to get everyone it's sent to to participate. It's nice after you have received the responses to be able to view the data. It was always nice and clear and easy for me to see which was the time that was most desired for meetings. While I mostly used it for that scenario, it really could be used very broadly as you can make any kind of survey you'd like.

Having used SurveyMonkey many years ago, it was my go to tool for a recent survey to members of a not for profit sports club that I captain.
  • Reasonably easy to setup a survey with answers provided using various mechanisms
  • Good reporting on survey results
  • Deceptive business practices
  • "Free basic" version is promoted on site but details on limitations difficult to find
  • Very expensive and not suitable for the likes of a community sports club wanting to do a one off survey of members.
For small organizations and community not-for profits, I would suggest SurveyMonkey is not at all suitable. It is expensive, and be very careful about investing any of your time in the "free" version which is essentially a trap.

SurveyMonkey may be suited to larger corporations who frequently produce surveys, however there are many other accessible and competing options available these days that make a dedicated survey site like SurveyMonkey far less relevant.

If you are thinking of using the free service, think twice. Using the free version you will find you can create your survey with all sorts of components, but then having invested the time, when you go to publish it you will be met with a payment request for the "premium" features you have used in your form. Once you manage to publish a form with only free features, you will then be solicited for paid enhancements for result analysis. Next you will find that your survey has a limit of 40 responses, and any extra results will be withheld unless you upgrade to a paid plan (which is billed annually), or you can pay an exorbitant amount for a 1 month membership. Our club would have been happy to pay a small fee for our one off, small survey, but Survey Monkey does not appear to be interested in this market space with their current structure. I also take issue with their deceptive approach to their "free" offering and will now avoid them in my professional capacity as well.

We mainly use SurveyMonkey throughout the organization to carry out surveys where everyone participates and contributes their personal opinion on various issues that concern us in general, regarding the organization of work and commercial plans. With surveys, we revolutionize the way we collect information, it is now more effective, speeding up data collection and processing. Now with the COVID-19, we can do remote work and be able to follow up on employee and customer feedback.
  • It is fairly affordable with respect to the features it offers.
  • I can create as many survey quantities as I want without limitations.
  • It also provides a wide variety of tools to configure and customize forms, with several languages available, predesigned templates and different text formats that make the experience more comfortable.
  • It has a limitation in the integrations of applications.
  • It needs a more interactive interface, its structure is somewhat boring.
  • The file formats that can be added to surveys are few.
It is really easy to create surveys, access all the information I need and speed up the collection of data, but on the other hand the experience would improve if they expand the features they offer, even if they ask to charge a higher price for that.

SurveyMonkey is being used by our team to create surveys and deploy them on other channels. They use it for collecting data for various types of research being done for diverse industries. Since SM is such a complete and flexible tool it makes it very convenient to be applied in many industries and situations.
  • Lots of question types and customization.
  • AI to rate your survey quality.
  • Bad support.
  • Lack of white labeling regarding domain names.
It's a great and powerful platform and compared to its competitors it's an easy pick. It is good for both small and large companies. The analytics part of it is fine, but since we don't use it much there is not much to be said about it.

SurveyMonkey was used to develop and distribute surveys that we would us to gather, feedback, data, opinions and many other data types in order to conduct research and analyst for a myriad of companies. We also used SurveyMonkey to get quick insights of opinions on internal questions as well.
  • Intuitive Survey design
  • Data Collection
  • Survey Distribution
  • Would be nice to have some more customization options
  • More data field yypes
  • More security options
SurveyMonkey is the perfect tool to not only conduct inter-company surveys, but also for gathering feedback on meetings, conferences and many other types of events. Currently, I have been using SurveyMonkey for some of my online personal training clients that I don't get too much 1-on-1 interaction with. This helps me understand my clients' needs and make sure I am providing them the best quality training. This also helps my business grow and provides me with constructive feedback based on each specifically tailored survey.
  • It's simple to use.
  • Instantaneous setup/usage.
  • The design/user interface is ergonomic and clean.
  • The basic plan is quite limited.
  • Automation can be difficult.
  • Setting up surveys may take some time.
For many service-based businesses, SurveyMonkey performs extremely well and can be highly compatible. It can also be used for products as well, to give proper insight and perspective on the customer's experience with said product or software. SurveyMonkey may not be the best in wholesale businesses or larger-based businesses. I believe every company's post-QA team should be the customer or client.

SurveyMonkey is used to create ad-hoc surveys in a variety of offices, to a variety of constituents on campus. They can vary from short to long and have simple to complex logic. It gives us a way to collect data, quickly and easily, about events and topics on campus, past and future.
  • Easy to build.
  • Easy to mail out.
  • Easy to view results.
  • Could use more complex logic.
We have used SurveyMonkey for everything from informal surveys to more formal, organization-wide surveys. Really, there isn't much SurveyMonkey can't do! I recommend it wholeheartedly. It is simple and easy to use and helps you to quickly accomplish what you need to. I can't think of many scenarios where it isn't appropriate, unless you need something with more complex logic (detailed "if, then" kinds of things).

SurveyMonkey is used throughout our Marketing department to conduct customer feedback surveys on how we are doing, different polls we conduct, etc. It allows us a unified way of collecting the data we submit via survey and exporting the responses so that we can reach out and follow up to those who participated.
  • Allows a unified way to collect responses.
  • Allows users to unsubscribe and keeps track so that we don't keep sending emails to them.
  • Provides an easy survey template.
  • Provides an easier way to export responses.

I have used SurveyMonkey for almost a year. I had heard some friends talk about it, but the first time had not paid much attention. Then on another occasion I was with them asking them for some way to be able to have more contact with the visitors of my web page (at that time I had a page about literature) and to be able to know in a better way what things should improve and also get their opinions about some classic terror. My first experience with the product was very good. The truth is that I had been looking for videos and reading about this platform, so I had no problem creating my account and conducting my first survey. Currently I still use it, and although I no longer have my literature web page (I do not have much time), I have a friend who is working in an independent publishing house in South America and he is also a writer, so I help him to viralize the sketches of covers or some new novels, and with SurveyMonkey you can do a small survey to know what people think about these topics.
  • It is very easy to create and modify surveys, you just have to make some clicks to be able to configure it and give it a personal touch.
  • The program tabulates and gives results automatically, so you should not break your head to create graphics.
  • If you are looking to make some simple surveys, you can use the free version without problem, which is really good since not everyone has money to invest in these programs.
  • Nothing in particular.
From my experience, SurveyMonkey works very well either using the free version or using the paid version, which is why the truth is it works wonders in almost all settings, whether you want to carry out a survey between the school's parents where your son attends, even a survey of skills in the workers of a company, I have even read that some teachers use it in their classes to corroborate the learning of their students. As far as a scenario where it does not work, I think there are not many, since most users, especially paid ones, can have the right data they need and can edit their accounts in their own way.

We use SurveyMonkey as a way to monitor and report customer satisfaction for specific corporate clients. Before implementing the SurveyMonkey process, we used a third-party to gather feedback but didn't have nearly as much success in getting responses. Our corporate clients require reporting quarterly on the feedback that we gather and SurveyMonkey has made it simple to comply to our clients' requirement.
  • Ease of use - SurveyMonkey is simple to implement. You can send out a survey in minutes.
  • Customizable - SurveyMonkey does a great job of allowing you to build in logic to your questions which definitely provides a better user experience.
  • Reporting - Post survey report is simple to set up and you can slice and dice things they way you want to see it or just export all responses and sort through them in spreadsheet form.
  • I really don't have any negatives to report about SurveyMonkey. For what we are looking to use it for, it performs perfectly and fits our needs.
SurveyMonkey is well suited for gauging customer feedback. As mentioned previously, we send surveys out to our end customers of some of our corporate clients. This allows us to gauge how we are doing and make sure that any issues are addressed not only with the customer, but also in the process moving forward.

We use SurveyMonkey to assess and gather data on various employee-related or department-specific functions. For example, we recently used SurveyMonkey to send out a survey to all employees regarding a summer hours program (i.e. interest, feasibility, comments or recommendations for the program moving forward). We will also use SurveyMonkey again to assess how the program was received and whether or not it is worth continuing in future.
  • Easy to set up and very user-friendly
  • Good amalgamation of data and results.
  • Setting up a survey from scratch is not as intuitive as I would have hoped. Although once you understand how to use the product, it is quite easy. Just navigating the first few times is a bit challenging.
I think for data-collection from multiple users - provided the surveys aren't that long - SurveyMonkey is a great product.

In my previous company I used it primarily for meetings, especially for meetings with those that were new and we were still trying to gather the direction they should be going. After each meeting a survey was sent to out to all participants with a time line to complete. Questions asked were around the topics discussed, the length of time on each topic, the length of time for the meeting, the occurrence of it, and open ended questions were the best. They changed each time depending on the meeting, but it allowed participants to give suggestions of what you thought would be best. Now, at my current company, we use them for career fairs and to measure our ROI for each attendance, to identify strengths and weaknesses at each event so that we know whether we should return or not.
  • It really allows you to be able to manipulate it as you please to meet your needs.
  • The interface is extremely clean and easy to understand. It doesn't take an expert or advanced person to be able to create the surveys or take them.
  • I LOVE THE REMINDERS YOU CAN SET UP! If there was a deadline that I needed to complete the survey by I would get an automated email reminding me of it. Which personally I thought was pretty neat.
  • I have only created maybe two surveys, but when I did I didn't see much to be able to get the format to look a little nicer. It was very simple as I previously mentioned, which is great sometimes! However, it would be neat to be able to make the survey look a tad bit fancier depending on who will be receiving the surveys. Other than that, I do not have too much experience to be able to say anything that is negative or could improve.
I feel that being able to measure your return on events has been the most instrumental for us with this tool. You are able to save the responses for a pretty decent amount of time to go back and look at it. I don't see it being very helpful though in groups where analytics won't be looked at it and/or where nothing is done with the analytics this tool can provide.

Surveymonkey was used for internal evaluations. The surveys were analyzed to make research management improvements. The option of anonymity allowed us to receive additional comments for improvements. The free version was used and it allowed us basic data analysis. Exporting the data however was not free. We had to convert it to PDF for sharing purposes.
  • Easy to create an account and set up your survey
  • Provides options for survey responses
  • Easy to share survey for responses via emails
  • Anonymous responses can be collected
  • Free version works well for basic creating survey, collection of data and analysis
  • You can track the progress of the survey
  • Exporting data in the free version
  • Does not allow collaborations
  • Questionnaire is limited to 10 questions
Surveymonkey is best for quick short surveys. It does provide you the option of additional comments. You may have to check the paid versions for longer research type surveys which have a lot more than 10 questions. You don't have to analyze the data. Surveymonkey does it for you and you can dig in deeper for some more details. Progress tracking is also a great feature. You don't have a survey closing date option.

When we have very simple surveys -- limited skips, short, etc. -- where we don't have to go to an outside supplier's web site, we set it up on our company web site with Survey Monkey.
  • Cost is very reasonable
  • Very easy to program surveys -- no high level training/learning curve required
  • The survey format is very attractive and easy for respondents to fill out
  • Does not work well with more complex surveys with complicated skip patterns
  • Inability to include graphics or video into survey
  • We can only use it when we have email addresses for target respondents or we have to contact them via phone, letter, etc. and ask them to come to our site. This requires that we have sufficient sample to allow for non-respondents.
Best for very simple and short surveys, especially when there is limited budget. Easy to import data into Excel for easy analysis and presentation. There are different levels or versions that you can purchase depending upon your needs.

If they improved the ability to have complicated skip patterns, it would be more useful. One big problem is that it is so available that many clients think they now can do their own research, not realizing that crafting a survey is more than just asking some questions and that it requires special skills.

  • Easy to set surveys. I could give some of my users a brief training and let them design and set up surveys by themselves
  • The abilities to set up mailing list so surveys can be delivered to large number of participants easily
  • The ability to download survey data. I often downloaded survey data and ported it into my own database to feed corporate performance dashbaoard
  • The reporting functions offered online are limited. I often needed to download and process survey data myself in order to get certain reports
  • Data integration: data download option was removed for a while. I don't know if it is restored now.

Option to download and own the response data is very important for us

SurveyMonkey was used most often as a way to measure employee satisfaction and engagement. It is used across several departments and is a useful survey tool in both sales and marketing departments. At times we used SurveyMonkey to also get a consensus before deploying system wide changes and also as a discovery tool for process improvements across the organization.
  • Its extremely nimble and easy to set up
  • Provides a useful question bank full of sample questions to guide you in your survey
  • Results analysis shows charts for a quick analysis as well as downloading the raw data for creating custom reports
  • Creates numerous collectors in order to track where people are finding your surveys
  • You cannot use an internal logo across multiple surveys without upgrading.
  • You are limited to the first 100 responses unless purchasing more
  • Limited connectivity: Was unable to connect Survey Monkey to multiple Facebook pages.
In order to know whether SurveyMonkey is good for your organization, you need to discover what the final output will be and how large the survey audience will be. If you are a small department or will be using less than 100 polled users, then the basic product is for you.
